In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Fruitport Trojans basketball team scored a good 83-73 triumph over the Newaygo Lions.
The Trojans (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Comstock Park (Comstock Park, MI). The Panthers go into the Ottawa-Kent - Silver contest with a 2-12 record. In their last contest, Comstock Park topped Wellspring Prep (Grand Rapids, MI), 63-45, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Lions confront the Grant Tigers (Grant, MI) in a Central State - Gold contest, on Friday, January 31. Newaygo will attempt to better on its 5-8 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 12-2 record after their 53-30 league win over Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI).
