In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Willow Springs Bears basketball team scored a close 43-42 win over the Sparta Trojans.
The Bears (7-6) will now prepare for their contest against Liberty (Mountain View, MO). The Eagles come into the South Central contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Liberty was tipped by Norwood (Norwood, MO), 66-57, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Trojans battle the Mansfield Lions (Mansfield, MO) in a Summit contest, on Friday, February 7. Sparta will attempt to better on its 8-9 season record. The Lions come into the contest with a 7-9 record after their 70-50 non-league win over Billings (Billings, MO).
