In Tuesday's league contest, the host Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets basketball team scored a close 60-59 win over the North Central Hurricanes.
The Hornets (15-9) will now prepare for their contest against Central Private (Baker, LA). The Redhawks come into the non-league contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Central Private edged Maurepas (Maurepas, LA), 61-28, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Hurricanes battle the Opelousas Catholic Vikings (Opelousas, LA) in a 1A District 5 contest, on Friday, January 31. North Central will attempt to better on its 9-14 season record. The Vikings come into the contest with a 4-14 record after their 45-24 league loss to St. Edmund (Eunice, LA).
