The Covington Lions basketball team scored 43 points and limited the host West Jefferson Buccaneers to 27 in the Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Lions now possess a 7-12 record. They play next when they host Hammond for a 5A District 6 game on Thursday, January 30. Covington will confront a Tornadoes team coming off a 64-26 league loss to Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA). The Tornadoes record now stands at 5-16.
With the loss, West Jefferson falls to 7-14 on the campaign. The Buccaneers host Benjamin Franklin (New Orleans, LA) to confront the Falcons in a 5A District 10 game on Thursday, January 30. The Falcons go into the game with a record of 13-15. Benjamin Franklin lost 67-26 in their recent non-league game against Holden (Holden, LA)
