St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Roanoke-Benson Rockets (Roanoke, IL), 57-47 in a league bout.

With the win, St. Bede upgrades its record to 7-17 on the season. The Bruins travel to Midland (Varna, IL) to play the Timberwolves in a Tri-County bout on Friday, February 2. The Timberwolves go into the bout with a record of 11-13. Midland won 42-41 in their recent non-league bout against Woodland (Streator, IL)

Next up, the Rockets play the Quest Charter Academy Gators (Peoria, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Roanoke-Benson will attempt to upgrade on its 5-16 season record. The Gators go into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 77-65 non-league loss to Yorkville Christian (Yorkville, IL).
