Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles (Concord, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Alhambra Bulldogs (Martinez, CA), 46-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Clayton Valley Charter upgrades its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Ugly Eagles travel to Benicia (Benicia, CA) to play the Panthers in a bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 22-5. Benicia won 57-45 in their recent non-league bout against St. Patrick-St. Vincent (Vallejo, CA)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Miramonte Matadors (Orinda, CA) in a bout, on Wednesday, January 31. Alhambra will attempt to upgrade on its 7-12 season record. The Matadors come into the bout with a 3-9 record after their 43-39 non-league loss to Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, CA).
