Central Knights (Providence, RI) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Woonsocket Villa Novans (Woonsocket, RI), 59-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Central upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Knights host Westerly (Westerly, RI) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Westerly lost 51-40 in their recent non-league bout against East Providence (East Providence, RI)

Next up, the Villa Novans play the Bishop Hendricken Hawks (Warwick, RI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 1. Woonsocket will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 9-2 record after their 55-36 non-league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI).
