Florida High School Basketball - Mitchell crushes Countryside

January 29, 2024: New Port Richey, FL 34655

Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Countryside Cougars (Clearwater, FL), 54-24 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mitchell upgrades its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Springstead (Spring Hill, FL) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 31. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 10-1. Springstead won 52-24 in their recent league bout against Hernando (Brooksville, FL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Pinellas Park Patriots (Largo, FL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Countryside will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 43-42 non-league loss to Boca Ciega (Gulfport, FL).
