Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers (Gardner, IL) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Iroquois West Raiders (Gilman, IL), 42-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gardner-South Wilmington upgrades its record to 1-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Clifton Central (Clifton, IL) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Comets come into the bout with a record of 12-7. Clifton Central won 49-16 in their recent non-league bout against Milford (Milford, IL)

Next up, the Raiders play the Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Iroquois West will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record.
