The Brown County Hornets basketball team scored 72 points and limited the visiting Mendon Unity Mustangs to 55 in the Hornets league triumph on Wednesday.

The Hornets now possess a 16-7 record. They play next when they host Liberty for a non-league game on Friday, January 31. Brown County will confront a Eagles team coming off a 62-49 non-league loss to Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 12-9.

With the loss, Mendon Unity falls to 13-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Beardstown (Beardstown, IL) to confront the Tigers in a West Central game on Wednesday, February 5. The Tigers go into the game with a record of 5-17. Beardstown lost 64-35 in their recent non-league game against South County (Franklin, IL)
