The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Green City Gophers (Green City, MO) and the host Putnam County Midgets (Unionville, MO), observed Green City's basketball team knock off Putnam County by a score of 67-54.

The Gophers (13-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Linn County (Purdin, MO). The Mustangs come into the Tri-County - Northeast challenge with a 5-5 record.

In their next game, the Midgets encounter the Canton Tigers (Canton, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 4. Putnam County will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record.
