Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Glendale Cardinals (Glendale, AZ) and the host Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ), saw Glendale's soccer squad hold off Copper Canyon by a count of 2-1.

The Cardinals (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Fairfax (Laveen, AZ). The Stampede enter the non-league battle with a 0-11 record. In their last battle, Fairfax was edged by McClintock (Tempe, AZ), 8-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Aztecs battle the Sierra Linda Bulldogs (Phoenix, AZ) in a 5A Central Valley battle, on Tuesday, February 4. Copper Canyon will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record.
