Ohio High School Basketball - Amanda-Clearcreek can't hold off Athens

January 3, 2023: The Plains, OH 45780

The Athens Bulldogs basketball team scored 39 points and held the visiting Amanda-Clearcreek Aces to 34 in the Bulldogs non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs now sport a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nelsonville-York for a Tri-Valley I contest on Friday, January 6. Athens will battle a Buckeyes team coming off a 58-49 non-league loss to Trimble (Glouster, OH). The Buckeyes record now stands at 6-4.

The Aces (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Logan Elm (Circleville, OH). The Braves enter the Mid-State - Buckeye contest with a 3-6 record. In their last contest, Logan Elm was nudged by Zane Trace (Chillicothe, OH), 52-32, in a non-league contest.
