Toms River South Indians (Toms River, NJ) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Barnegat Bengals (Barnegat, NJ), 49-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Toms River South upgrades its record to 2-5 on the season. The Indians host Brick Memorial (Brick, NJ) to play the Mustangs in a Shore A - South bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 7-1.

Next up, the Bengals play the Manchester Township Hawks (Lakehurst, NJ) in a Shore B - South bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Barnegat will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record.
