Mayfair Monsoons (Lakewood, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Chaminade Eagles (West Hills, CA), 42-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mayfair upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Monsoons host Downey (Downey, CA) to play the Vikings in a Gateway bout on Friday, January 6. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 16-1.

Next up, the Eagles play the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (Chatsworth, CA) in a Mission bout, on Friday, January 6. Chaminade will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record. The Trailblazers come into the bout with a 13-3 record after their 81-66 non-league win over Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, NV).
