Georgia High School Basketball - McIntosh County Academy topped by Effingham County

January 3, 2023: Springfield, GA 31329

The Effingham County Rebels basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the visiting McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers to 42 in the Rebels non-league victory on Tuesday.

The Rebels now sport a 10-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Effingham for a AAAAAA Region 2 contest on Friday, January 6. Effingham County will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 56-33 non-league loss to Statesboro (Statesboro, GA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-6.

The Buccaneers (2-9) will now prepare for their contest against Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA). The Bulldogs come into the A D2 Region 3 contest with a 1-11 record. In their last contest, Emanuel County Institute was defeated by Claxton (Claxton, GA), 50-44, in a non-league contest.
