Washington, DC High School Basketball - St. John's nips IMG Academy

Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the St. John's Cadets (Washington, DC) and the visiting IMG Academy Ascenders (Bradenton, FL), saw St. John's's basketball squad hold off IMG Academy by a tally of 80-73.

With the victory, St. John's improves its record to 13-0 on the campaign. The Cadets host Bishop Ireton (Alexandria, VA) to play the Cardinals in a VISAA Division I challenge on Thursday, January 5. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Bishop Ireton won 67-63 in their recent non-league challenge against Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD)

Next up, the Ascenders play the 212 Sports Academy The Steam (Sarasota, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. IMG Academy will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The The Steam come into the challenge with a 3-4 record after their 46-44 non-league loss to IMG Academy Gray (Bradenton, FL).
