The Poly Engineers basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Lake Clifton Lakers to 53 in the Engineers league triumph on Tuesday.

The Engineers now sport a 4-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forest Park for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 31.

The Lakers (3-1) will now prepare for their contest against Mergenthaler Vo-Tech (Baltimore, MD). The Mustangs enter the Baltimore City contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Mergenthaler Vo-Tech was nudged by Atlantic County Institute of Tech (Mays Landing, NJ), 55-37, in a non-league contest.
