Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX) and the host Meadow Broncos (Meadow, TX), saw Sands's basketball squad hold off Meadow by a tally of 55-50.

With the victory, Sands improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Klondike (Lamesa, TX) to play the Cougars in a 1A Region I District 8 challenge on Friday, January 13. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 1-6.

Next up, the Broncos play the Morton Indians (Morton, TX) in a 1A Region I District 7 challenge, on Friday, January 6. Meadow will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record.
