Santana Sultans (Santee, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA), 64-58 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Santana upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Sultans host San Pasqual (Escondido, CA) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 4. The Golden Eagles go into the bout with a record of 6-10. San Pasqual lost 54-31 in their recent non-league bout against Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA)

Next up, the Monarchs play the Valley Center Jaguars (Valley Center, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 4. Monte Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Jaguars go into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 56-35 non-league win over Grossmont (El Cajon, CA).
