The Elkton Elks basketball team (Elkton, OR), was overwhelmed 37-9 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Coquille Red Devils (Coquille, OR)
The Red Devils now possess a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sutherlin for a 3A Far West battle on Friday, January 6. Coquille will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 49-14 league win over South Umpqua (Myrtle Creek, OR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-2.
The Elks (5-6) will now prepare for their battle against New Hope Christian (Grants Pass, OR). The Warriors come into the 1A Skyline battle with a 3-3 record. In their last battle, New Hope Christian was overwhelmed by Yoncalla (Yoncalla, OR), 40-34, in a league battle.
