Georgia High School Basketball - McIntosh County Academy nudges Effingham County

January 3, 2023: Springfield, GA 31329

In Tuesday's non-league outing, the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA) basketball squad nipped the host Effingham County Rebels (Springfield, GA), by a margin of 47-43.

The Buccaneers (2-6) will now prepare for their outing against Emanuel County Institute (Twin City, GA). The Bulldogs go into the A D2 Region 3 outing with a 1-7 record. In their last outing, Emanuel County Institute was tipped by Claxton (Claxton, GA), 60-30, in a non-league outing.

The Rebels now own a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to South Effingham for a AAAAAA Region 2 outing on Friday, January 6. Effingham County will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 41-30 non-league loss to Statesboro (Statesboro, GA). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-4.
