Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Spartans (Woodhull, IL), 47-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Abingdon/Avon upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Tornadoes travel to Wethersfield (Kewanee, IL) to clash with the Flying Geese in a Lincoln Trail bout on Friday, January 5. The Flying Geese go into the bout with a record of 5-8. Wethersfield lost 54-36 in their recent league bout against Annawan (Annawan, IL)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Princeville Princes (Princeville, IL) in a Lincoln Trail bout, on Friday, January 5. Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Princes go into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 67-60 league win over ROWVA/Williamsfield (Oneida, IL).
