North Carolina High School Basketball - Eastern Randolph can't hold off Asheboro

The Eastern Randolph Wildcats basketball team (Ramseur, NC), was nudged 80-75 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC)

The Blue Comets now possess a 12-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Oak Grove for a 3A Mid-Piedmont battle on Friday, January 5. Asheboro will battle a Grizzlies team coming off a 68-50 non-league loss to Randleman (Randleman, NC). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-7.

The Wildcats (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Wheatmore (Trinity, NC). The Warriors come into the 1A/2A Piedmont battle with a 1-12 record. In their last battle, Wheatmore was nudged by College Prep & Leadership Academy (Jamestown, NC), 68-52, in a non-league battle.
