North Carolina High School Basketball - Covenant Day fells Asheville Christian Academy

January 3, 2024: Matthews, NC 28105

Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Asheville Christian Academy Lions (Swannanoa, NC), 48-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Covenant Day upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Lions travel to Cannon (Concord, NC) to play the Cougars in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 14-6.

Next up, the Lions play the Asheville School (Independent) Blues (Asheville, NC) in a NCISAA Carolinas bout, on Friday, January 5. Asheville Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Blues go into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 74-52 non-league loss to SouthLake Christian Academy (Huntersville, NC).
