Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Lewis County Minutemen (Weston, WV) and the visiting Hoover Huskies (Clendenin, WV), saw Lewis County's basketball squad overcome Hoover by a tally of 61-51.

With the victory, Lewis County improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Minutemen travel to Preston (Kingwood, WV) to play the Knights in a Big Ten challenge on Friday, January 5. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 2-6. Preston lost 52-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Keyser (Keyser, WV)

Next up, the Huskies play the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) in a Coalfield AA challenge, on Saturday, January 6. Hoover will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 80-55 league win over Independence (Coal City, WV).
