Warren County Eagles (Warrenton, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting J.F. Webb Warriors (Oxford, NC), 59-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Warren County upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Northampton County (Gaston, NC) to play the Jaguars in a 1A Tar Roanoke bout on Friday, January 5. The Jaguars come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Northampton County won 71-58 in their recent non-league bout against Roanoke Rapids (Roanoke Rapids, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the South Granville Vikings (Creedmoor, NC) in a 2A/3A Northern Lakes bout, on Friday, January 5. J.F. Webb will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 8-3 record after their 75-71 non-league win over Sanderson (Raleigh, NC).
