    • North Carolina High School Basketball - Apex Friendship edges Lee County

    January 3, 2024: Apex, NC 27502

    The Apex Friendship Patriots (Apex, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), 41-40 in Wednesday's non-league test.

    The Patriots (7-4) will now prepare for their test against Green Hope (Cary, NC). The Falcons go into the 4A Southeast Wake test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Green Hope got by Holly Springs (Holly Springs, NC), 62-43, in a league test.

    The Yellow Jackets now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they travel to Jordan-Matthews for a non-league test on Friday, January 5. Lee County will encounter a Jets squad coming off a 53-20 league loss to Southeast Alamance (Haw River, NC). The Jets record now stands at 6-6.
