In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Garinger Wildcats basketball team scored a decisive 60-26 triumph over the Statesville Greyhounds.
In their next game, the Wildcats face the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A Southwestern match, on Friday, January 5. Garinger will attempt to move on its 10-4 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 10-2 record after their 56-43 non-league loss to Pickerington Central (Pickerington, OH).
With the defeat, Statesville moves to 1-8 on the year. The Greyhounds travel to East Lincoln (Denver, NC) to face the Mustangs in a 3A Western Foothills match on Friday, January 5. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 9-1. East Lincoln won 52-40 in their recent non-league match against Robinson (Concord, NC)
