Kentucky High School Basketball - Russell fells Montgomery County

January 3, 2024: Russell, KY 41169

Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Montgomery County Indians (Mt. Sterling, KY), 61-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Russell upgrades its record to 9-3 on the season. The Red Devils host Lewis County (Vanceburg, KY) to clash with the Lions in a District 63 bout on Friday, January 5. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 4-8.

Next up, the Indians clash with the George Rogers Clark Cardinals (Winchester, KY) in a District 40 bout, on Saturday, January 6. Montgomery County will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 77-12 league win over Paris (Paris, KY).
