In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Pisgah Bears basketball team scored a good 58-38 triumph over the Swain County Maroon Devils.
In their next game, the Bears face the Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) in a 3A Mountain 7 match, on Friday, January 5. Pisgah will attempt to move on its 8-4 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 6-6 record after their 58-48 non-league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC).
With the defeat, Swain County moves to 4-7 on the year. The Maroon devils host Cherokee (Cherokee, NC) to face the Braves in a 1A Smoky Mountain match on Friday, January 5. The Braves enter the match with a record of 10-1. Cherokee won 62-35 in their recent non-league match against Mount Tabor (Winston-Salem, NC)
