The West Union Eagles (Myrtle, MS) basketball edged the visiting Alcorn Central Bears (Glen, MS), 65-58 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Eagles now possess a 17-3 record. They play next when they travel to New Albany for a non-league game on Thursday, January 9. West Union will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 67-55 league win over Senatobia (Senatobia, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-4.
With the loss, Alcorn Central falls to 10-7 on the campaign. The Bears host Booneville (Booneville, MS) to confront the Blue Devils in a 3A Region 1 game on Tuesday, January 7. The Blue Devils go into the game with a record of 11-4.
