Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA), 68-59 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Auburn advances its record to 6-5 on the year. The Eagles host Grayson County (Independence, VA) to face the Blue Devils in a Mountain Empire match on Tuesday, January 7. The Blue Devils enter the match with a record of 1-4. Grayson County lost 39-33 in their recent non-league match against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

The Colonels now own a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dan River for a Dogwood match on Friday, January 10.
