The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Apex Friendship Patriots (Apex, NC) and the host Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), observed Apex Friendship's basketball team overcome Lee County by a score of 63-43.

The Patriots (9-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Apex (Apex, NC). The Cougars come into the 4A Southeast Wake challenge with a 2-11 record. In their last challenge, Apex dropped by Knightdale (Knightdale, NC), 70-47, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Yellow Jackets battle the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills challenge, on Tuesday, January 7. Lee County will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 64-63 non-league win over Providence (Charlotte, NC).
