The Athens Academy Spartans bounced the host Stephens County Indians basketball squad by a final score of 58-37 in Friday's non-league outing.
Next, the Spartans clash with the Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA) in a A D1 Region 8 outing, on Saturday, January 4. Athens Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Patriots come into the outing with a 0-9 record after their 62-51 non-league loss to Hart County (Hartwell, GA).
The Indians (1-12) will now prepare for their outing against Franklin County (Carnesville, GA). The Lions come into the AA Region 8 outing with a 5-10 record. In their last outing, Franklin County was overwhelmed by Concord Academy (Concord, NC), 94-49, in a non-league outing.
