The Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) basketball edged the visiting Boyle County Rebels (Danville, KY), 59-58 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Cardinals now possess a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Southwestern for a District 48 bout on Tuesday, January 7. Wayne County will play a Warriors team coming off a 60-44 non-league win over West Jessamine (Nicholasville, KY). The Warriors record now stands at 7-4.
With the loss, Boyle County falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Lincoln County (Stanford, KY) to play the Patriots in a District 45 bout on Friday, January 10. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 7-4.
