The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hudson Hornets (Lufkin, TX) and the host China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX), observed Hudson's basketball team overwhelm China Spring by a margin of 61-34.

The Hornets (10-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Palestine (Palestine, TX). The Wildcats come into the 4A Region III District 17 challenge with a 10-9 record. In their last challenge, Palestine trounced Livingston (Livingston, TX), 61-58, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge, on Friday, January 10. China Spring will attempt to better on its 10-11 season record.
