Mendon Unity Mustangs (Mendon, IL) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes (Griggsville, IL), 62-61 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Mendon Unity advances its record to 9-4 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Liberty (Liberty, IL) to face the Eagles in a West Central match on Wednesday, January 8. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 7-4. Liberty lost 52-33 in their recent non-league match against Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL)
The Tornadoes now own a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Illini West for a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. Griggsville-Perry will face a Chargers squad coming off a 60-55 non-league win over Eureka (Eureka, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 11-4.
