In Friday's non-league match, the Straughn Tigers (Andalusia, AL) basketball squad nipped the visiting Highland Home Flying Squadron (Highland Home, AL), by a final score of 56-53.

With the victory, Straughn upgrades its record to 8-12 on the year. The Tigers travel to Bullock County (Union Springs, AL) to face the Hornets in a 4A Area 4 match on Monday, January 6. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 1-10. Bullock County won 66-41 in their recent league match against Pike County (Brundidge, AL)

The Flying Squadron now sport a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Central for a 2A Area 5 match on Tuesday, January 7.
