Mississippi High School Basketball - Lafayette holds off Independence

In Friday's non-league contest, the host Lafayette Commodores basketball team scored a close 62-59 triumph over the Independence Wildcats.
The Commodores (9-5) will now prepare for their contest against Red Bay (Red Bay, AL). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 10-7 record.
In their next game, the Wildcats confront the Potts Camp Cardinals (Potts Camp, MS) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Independence will attempt to better on its 10-6 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 0-14 record after their 69-44 non-league loss to Belmont (Belmont, MS).
