The Kearny Komets basketball squad (San Diego, CA), lost 89-79 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA)

With the victory, Monte Vista advances its record to 9-8 on the year. The Monarchs host Clairemont (San Diego, CA) to meet the Chieftains in a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Chieftains enter the battle with a record of 7-7. Clairemont lost 76-54 in their recent non-league battle against Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA)

The Komets now own a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Classical Academy for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 7.
