The St. Michael Cardinals basketball squad (St. Michaels, AZ), was crushed 54-31 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Lincoln Prep Lightning (Chandler, AZ)

With the victory, Lincoln Prep advances its record to 7-5 on the year. The Lightning host Ray (Kearny, AZ) to meet the Bearcats in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 4. The Bearcats enter the battle with a record of 6-8. Ray won 1-0 in their recent non-league battle against Tournament Team (, )

The Cardinals now own a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Dishchii'bikoh for a 1A North battle on Tuesday, January 7. St. Michael will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 73-56 non-league loss to Veritas Prep (Phoenix, AZ). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-5.
