The Proviso East Pirates basketball squad (Maywood, IL), was nudged 63-59 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Prospect Knights (Mt. Prospect, IL)

With the victory, Prospect advances its record to 6-9 on the year. The Knights host Wheeling (Wheeling, IL) to meet the Wildcats in a Mid-Suburban - East battle on Friday, January 10. The Wildcats enter the battle with a record of 7-8.

The Pirates now own a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Lawndale for a non-league battle on Sunday, January 5. Proviso East will meet a Phoenix squad coming off a 57-40 non-league loss to Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL). The Phoenix record now stands at 7-5.
