In Friday's non-league contest, the host Brantley Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 42-38 triumph over the Long Rebels.
The Bulldogs (6-6) will now prepare for their contest against McKenzie (McKenzie, AL). The Tigers go into the 1A Area 3 contest with a 1-9 record. In their last contest, McKenzie was tipped by Opp (Opp, AL), 47-39, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Rebels battle the Abbeville Yellowjackets (Abbeville, AL) in a 2A Area 4 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Long will attempt to better on its 3-15 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the contest with a 12-1 record after their 60-30 league win over Barbour County (Clayton, AL).
