The Rio Mesa Spartans basketball team scored 51 points and limited the visiting Burbank Bulldogs to 33 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now have a 5-9 record. They play next when they travel to Santa Paula for a non-league game on Saturday, January 4. Rio Mesa will confront a Cardinals team coming off a 52-17 non-league win over Grant (Van Nuys, CA). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Burbank falls to 10-7 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Pasadena (Pasadena, CA) to confront the Bulldogs in a Pacific game on Tuesday, January 7. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 7-5. Pasadena won 59-46 in their recent non-league game against Temple City (Temple City, CA)
