In Friday's non-league contest, the host Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans basketball team scored a big 56-27 triumph over the Desert Christian Eagles.
The Spartans (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Kingman Academy (Kingman, AZ). The Tigers go into the non-league contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, Kingman Academy was trounced by Leading Edge Academy - GEC (Gilbert, AZ), 48-35, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles battle the Tombstone Yellow Jackets (Tombstone, AZ) in a 2A South contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Desert Christian will attempt to better on its 4-8 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the contest with a 14-3 record after their 59-20 non-league win over Valley Union (Elfrida, AZ).
