The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears (Merion Station, PA) and the host Faith Christian Academy Lions (Sellersville, PA), observed Merion Mercy Academy's basketball team knock off Faith Christian Academy by a score of 50-40.

The Golden Bears (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Villa Joseph Marie (Holland, PA). The Jems come into the Catholic Academies challenge with a 4-6 record. In their last challenge, Villa Joseph Marie was knocked off by Gwynedd Mercy Academy (Gwynedd Valley, PA), 41-30, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions encounter the Delaware County Christian Knights (Newtown Square, PA) in a Bicentennial - Constitution challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Faith Christian Academy will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record.
