The Pewamo-Westphalia Pirates (Pewamo, MI) basketball edged the visiting Powers Catholic Chargers (Flint, MI), 53-50 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 7-0 record. They play next when they host Potterville for a Central Michigan bout on Tuesday, January 7. Pewamo-Westphalia will play a Vikings team coming off a 51-24 league loss to Fowler (Fowler, MI). The Vikings record now stands at 0-4.
