The Ponaganset Chieftains edged the host Rogers Vikings ice hockey squad by a tally of 2-1 in Friday's league match.
Next, the Chieftains clash with the South Kingstown Rebels (Wakefield, RI) in a Division 2 match, on Saturday, January 4. Ponaganset will attempt to improve on its 6-2 season record. The Rebels enter the match with a 1-2 record after their 6-2 league loss to Cranston West (Cranston, RI).
The Vikings (0-4) will now prepare for their match against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, RI). The Patriots enter the Division 2 match with a 2-2 record. In their last match, Portsmouth held off Lincoln (Lincoln, RI), 7-4, in a league match.
