In Friday's non-league contest, the host Cheraw Braves basketball team scored a close 38-35 win over the Richmond Raiders.
The Braves (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Fighting Scots come into the non-league contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Scotland was tipped by Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC), 75-62, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Raiders battle the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Richmond will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Vikings come into the contest with a 4-4 record after their 60-54 non-league loss to Southern Alamance (Graham, NC).
